Harvie Krumpet

'Harvie Krumpet' is a animations created by Adam Elliot. Adam Elliot was born on the 2nd of January 1972 in Australia.
Adam Elliot has also created other animations like 'Uncle', 'Brother' and 'Cousin'.
He has also made a recent film called 'Mary and Max'.

But 'Harvie Krumpet' is based around a person called Harvek Milos Krumpetzki, who was born in Poland the year 1922. The animation tells the story of his life and the struggles he went though like having tourettes and all the people he loves leves him. But he always looks on the brighter side of life and lives life to the full.
The type of animation which is used is claymation where the models are made out of clay. Adam Elliot made the models the same size as wine bottles because he has a bad twitch. With Adam Elliots twitch it gave all of the models a unique style.
'Harvie Krumpet' has won over fourty major awards at famous film festivals. The 23 minute animation cost $380,000 and it took 15 months to make.

I loved the animation it makes you think about life and get as much as you can out of life 'Carpe Diem' (seize the day). I thinkl the way Adam Elliot has made this animation is very clever and the subject he ghas done it on is inspiring.

Limited Animation

Limited animation is a type of animation which repeats the same clips thoughout the video.Limited animation is where there is hardly any movement in the animation exept for movement of the mouth and the head but its not just parts ogf the charecter they keep the same its also parts of the background.Like in many of Hanna and Barbera cartoons the technique is used in Scooby Doo (the original series), Yogi Bear, The Flint stones and Top Cat. Disney and Hanna Barbera used the Technique at the same time because using the same clips was alot cheaper.

“Vincent” is a stop motion/ claymation directed by Tim Burton. Tim Burton has also directed many other popular animation and films like Nightmare before Christmas, Corpse Bride and Alice in Wonderland. This animation has been inspired on Dr. Seuss on how the animation has been set out.
Vincent is about a young boy who want to be like the famous actor Vincent Price because hes a famous horror actor and vincent thinks hes cool. Its almost like young Vicent is possesed by Vincent Price and he has all of these disturbing images of like his auntie being dunked in to hot wax and turning his pet dog into some sort of horrible monster that kills people in the night. When he trys to tell his mother hes possessed by Vincent Price she doesn't believe him then he is convinced he is dead.

Vincent Price himself, his voice gives the animation a spooky atmostphere and gives it that little bit more. Overall the 5min 52sec film cost $60,000, Tim Burton sent it on to Disney, they loved it but they didn't know what to do with it.

First animation

This was our first animation. The equipment we used included: Pens, Paper, Peg Bars ,Editing software and a Still Camera. The weaknesses of this animation was that the camera moved during the animation also some paper came in to the corner of the animation by mistake. The streghts were that all of the letters moved softly and smoothly. From doing this project i have learned that animations are easy to do, How to use a peg bar, the simpler the better and take time.
